On the Necessity of Correcting Peripheral Target Luminance for Pupillary Area
Despite the decrease in pupillary area for peripheral targets, retinal illuminance remains fairly constant to about 80 deg visual angle. Constant illuminance is maintained in the retinal periphery because the light that enters the pupil is concentrated into smaller retinal images. The correction of...

Zusammenfassung: | Despite the decrease in pupillary area for peripheral targets, retinal illuminance remains fairly constant to about 80 deg visual angle. Constant illuminance is maintained in the retinal periphery because the light that enters the pupil is concentrated into smaller retinal images. The correction of the peripheral target luminances for pupillary area is therefore unnecessary except under certain conditions. |
