Expression of Phosphoglycerate Kinase‐1 is Induced by Hydrogen Peroxide Treatment and Normalized by Antioxidative Agents in HT29 Human Colon Cancer Cells

In this study we attempted to search for biomarker for antioxidative agents using proteomic technique. That is, protein(s) whose expression is regulated by oxidative stress and recovered to normal by antioxidant treatment was screened. The expression level of the PGK1 (phosphoglycerate kinase 1) was...

Zusammenfassung:In this study we attempted to search for biomarker for antioxidative agents using proteomic technique. That is, protein(s) whose expression is regulated by oxidative stress and recovered to normal by antioxidant treatment was screened. The expression level of the PGK1 (phosphoglycerate kinase 1) was increased by treatment with hydrogen peroxide and recovered to normal state by treatment with antioxidants including delphinidin, tert‐butylhydroquinone, and alpha‐tocopherol in HT29 colon cancer cells. This study suggests that PGK1 has potential to be a biomarker for antioxidative activity.
