| Zusammenfassung: | Child welfare currently is undergoing a period of disparagement and retrenchment due to various social, political, economic, and legal factors. Despite an extensive body of highly visible research, problems that plagued the field in the 1970s still persist. This article discusses current issues and recent research relating to child welfare policy, child maltreatment, foster care, and adoption. Directions for future research are suggested that can lead to positive changes. |
