Zusammenfassung:Extensive remediation was conducted on contaminated landscapes after the Chernobyl accident in 1986 and the Fukushima Daiichi accident in 2011. A comparison is made of a range of different features relevant to each accident including the characteristics of the contamination and the landscapes affected, the radiological criteria, the designation of areas to be remediated and the remediation measures adopted.
