Zusammenfassung:Abstract Parkinsonism disease is the second most common aging neurodegenerative disorders characterized by degeneration of dopaminergic neurons settled in the substantia nigra, leading to the appearance of both motor and non-motor symptoms. This work aims to show the effect of stem cell therapy on treatment of Parkinsonism and also to show the mechanism of the action. In this work, Parkinsonism was induced by subcutanous injection of rotenone. Rats were divided randomly in to 3 groups; control, Parkinsonism, stem cell. Brain specimens were obtained for histological study. In Parkinsonism group, marked pathological changes were noticed in the form of; shrunken dopaminergic cells with pyknotic nuclei. Interestingly, improvement of some of the pathological changes was observed in the stem cell group. It could be concluded that, stem cell has a beneficial effect in management of Parkinsonism and this need further investigations in the future.
