The RTI DIGI-X Plus QA System in Routine Practice

The DIGI-X Plus is a commercially available QA system, offering wide freedom in measuring parameters on diagnostic X ray units. Data can be retrieved with a minimum number of measurements. The 'oRTIgo' software upgrades the quality assurance system and assures the option of document compliance with regulations and international recommendations. The available measurements of the system are the determination of the kVp, exposure time, total filtration, mA, mA.s, waveform on X ray tubes for general radiography, mammograpy and fluoroscopy. Experience in the practical use of the DIGI-X is presented and the collected data analysed in comparison with the recommended values and the same data obtained through other traditional methods, such as the Wisconsin cassette. The results show a good accordance between the traditional and digital measuring methods. With the DIGI-X Plus instrumentation measurements can be carried out in a shorter time and the stored data can be re-elaborated later.
