Zusammenfassung:The Wiener spectrum is an important tool used to assess the noise power of an image in the spatial frequency domain, and therefore a potentially useful index in the dose optimisation of X ray imaging systems. Many workers have reported on the measurement of Wiener spectra in the literature, however, there is little comparative work done on the relative performance of different imaging modalities using Wiener spectra. The performance of digital imaging systems using Wiener spectra is evaluated and measured spectra from different modalities compared, including ultrasound, digital subtraction angiography (DSA, vascular), a digital cardiac imaging system and nuclear medicine.
