Zusammenfassung: | Bubble damage neutron detectors (BDNDs) are sufficiently sensitive to neutrons to fulfil the requirements postulated in the ICRP 60 recommendations. The results are presented of studies of BDND responses in different reference neutron fields. Mostly BDNDs available from Bubble Technology Industries (Chalk River, Canada) have been studied. They have been tested in several lower energy reference fields (cf, Am-Be, simulated realistic neutron spectra, thermal neutron source) and also in high energy neutron reference fields at high energy accelerators at CERN, and JINR Dubna. The results obtained are analysed and discussed from the point of view of their utility for different groups of occupationally exposed persons. Some results obtained on board commercial subsonic aircraft are also presented. |
