Effects of exogenously applied gibberellin and red light on the endogenous levels of abscisic acid in photoblastic lettuce seeds

Endogenous levels of ABA in photoblastic lettuce seeds were decreased both by red-light irradiation and exogenously applied gibberellin. Since red light increases endogenous levels of GA1 and exogenously applied ABA inhibits both red-light- and gibberellin-induced germination, a decrease in ABA may...

Zusammenfassung:Endogenous levels of ABA in photoblastic lettuce seeds were decreased both by red-light irradiation and exogenously applied gibberellin. Since red light increases endogenous levels of GA1 and exogenously applied ABA inhibits both red-light- and gibberellin-induced germination, a decrease in ABA may be important for germination.
