Zusammenfassung: | This Special Session will discuss occupational hazards in Morocco's artisanal sector, emphasizing the importance of this dynamic and culturally rich activity in the country's economy.
The four presentations (i) delve into common risks faced by artisans, such as exposure to toxic chemicals and poor working conditions, (ii) explore how addressing these risks aligns with sustainable development goals, (iii) address the issue of persistent child labor in the handicraft sector despite the ratification of international conventions, (iv) focus on the socio-economic and demographic characteristics of craft production, and (vi) discuss the organization of Moroccan crafts and government policies in the artistic crafts sector.
Learning objectives from this Special Session include (i) the significance of combating occupational risks for the sector's sustainable development, (ii) the ongoing negative impact on children's health and morals, (iii) understanding the challenges related to work organization and human resources in the craft sector, and (v) the importance of prioritizing the quality of life and working conditions of artisans to preserve the historical heritage of Moroccan handicrafts. |
