The nitrogen to hydrogen abundance in main sequence B-type stars
Observed equivalent widths for N II lines in the spectra of approximately 30 B-type stars have been analysed using non-LTE model atmosphere calculations. The multiplets considered are numbers 3, 4, 5, 12, 15 and 55 and the observational data are principally from high dispersion echelle spectrograms....

Zusammenfassung: | Observed equivalent widths for N II lines in the spectra of approximately 30 B-type stars have been analysed using non-LTE model atmosphere calculations. The multiplets considered are numbers 3, 4, 5, 12, 15 and 55 and the observational data are principally from high dispersion echelle spectrograms. A zero microturbulence is found to be appropriate and a nitrogen to hydrogen abundance of 7.9 ± 0.1 dex is deduced in excellent agreement with the current solar value. |
