Weighing domestic and international impediments to transformative justice in transition

Transitional justice has largely failed to ameliorate socio-economic deprivations which lie at the roots of conflict. In explaining this failure, critical thinkers within the field have cited the influence of liberal peace-building, but in so doing risk unduly underestimating more influential domestic political-economic factors that inhibit genuinely transformative approaches.
