Recreation management in cooperation with nonprofit organizations: pros and cons [Forestry]

Public land managers faced with budget and manpower constraints are finding partnerships with nonprofit groups useful in meeting recreation management goals. Interviews with key personnel in five such partnerships in the East revealed a wide variety of pros and cons that managers should consider. On balance, interviewees felt that the possible benefits of partnerships outweigh the potential problems.
