Description of the larva, pupa and egg of Anopheles (Lophopodomyia) squamifemur Antunes with notes on development (Diptera, Culicidae)

Females of Anopheles squamifemur were collected by horse-baited trap in the Panama Canal Zone, and oviposition obtained. The larva, pupa and egg are described and illustrated for the first time, and the male genitalia are refigured from associated specimens. Taxonomic comparisons are made with other species of the subgenus Lophopodomyia. Data are presented on the bionomics of A. squamifemur, with observations on the laboratory development of the immature stages.
