Zusammenfassung: | Histochemical studies of cultured hamster brown fat infected with a strain of rabies virus recovered from the brown fat of naturally infected bats were undertaken to determine the nature of the cytoplasmic inclusion bodies observed. Stains for nucleic acids, protein, protein-bound groups, and lipids, together with techniques of enzymatic digestion and lipid extraction, were used. Evidence for ribonucleic acid, protein, and certain protein-bound groups was found within the inclusion body. The ribonucleic acid was either altered cytoplasmic ribonucleic acid or viral ribonucleic acid. |
