Use of Residuals in Forsythe's Method for Polynomial Curve Fitting
Orthogonal polynomials are widely used in discrete least squares polynomial curve fitting. Here we explain why a variant proposed recently by several authors is superior and propose a logical extension which produces better results under some circumstances.
