Zusammenfassung: | Foliar treatments of registered and nonregistered insecticides for first brood corn borer control were applied to irrigated corn plots in Madison County, Neb. on 5 July. Granular insecticides were applied with a specially modified Hahn Hi-boy. Liquid insecticides were applied in 16 gal of water/acre at 2 mph at 20 lb/in2 with a specially modified back pack sprayer. Each single row plot was 100 ft. Experimental design was randomized complete block with four replications. In mid-Aug., 10 plants in each plot were dissected from tassel to ground, examined and the number of corn borer cavities recorded. |
