Control of CM With Insect Growth Regulators, 1988

The trial was conducted on 32-yr-old ‘Bartlett’ pear trees in a commercial orchard near Kelseyville, Calif. Six treatments were replicated 4 times in a randomized complete block design. Each replicate was an individual tree. Materials were applied with a hand-held orchard sprayer operating at 250 psi and delivering 500 gal/acre. Materials were applied to coincide with CM oviposition and eclosion, based on a 1 degree-day accumulation from CM biofix (18 Mar). Control was evaluated by inspecting 100 mature fruit/replicate on 28 Jul.
