Greenbug and Corn Leaf Aphid Control, 1983

Two experiments were conducted at the University of Nebraska, South Central Research and Extension Center farm, Clay County, NE, both in a randomized complete block design with 5 replications. Plots were 4 rows wide (76-cm spacing), 9.1 m long. The 2 center rows were used for insect counts, head counts, and yield. In-furrow planting-time applications of granules were made by directing the insecticide delivery tube from Noble metering devices into the planter shoe just behind the seed delivery tube. Cultivation-time application of granules was made by directing the insecticide over the plants through granule delivery tubes from Noble metering devices mounted on a bicycle-wheeled plot applicator.
