Antihypertensive treatment of masked hypertension guided by ambulatory blood pressure monitoring: a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial

Abstract Background Masked hypertension, office normotension combined with out-of-office hypertension, is associated with target organ damage (TOD), but whether antihypertensive treatment guided by out-of-office blood pressure (BP) would reduce TOD is unproven.
