Zusammenfassung:Studies of amputated feet by dissection and phlebography have demonstrated the anatomical position of the perforating veins between the deep veins of the foot and the dorsal venous arch, and the position of the valves in these vessels. Valves allow flow towards the dorsal venous arch. A condensed layer of superficial fascia overlies, and may help to support, the dorsal venous arch.
