Carbohydrate Analysis by Ion Chromatography

A variety of separation and detection methods may be used in the ion chromatographic determination of carbohydrates. Anion exchange and ligand exchange separation modes will be emphasized, as will the refractive index, pulsed amperometric, and conductometric detection methods. Combination of separation mode and detection method for the ion chromatographic analyses of carbohydrate mixtures will be demonstrated with several example applications of the technique.
