Zusammenfassung:High pressure liquid chromatography was successfully conducted on TEAE-cellulose and theoretical plate numbers of 1000–1600 were attained on a 2.1 mm, i.d., × 1 m column. Chromatography of a number of organic acids on TEAE-cellulose revealed (a) no relationship between solute pKa and retention times, (b) increased solute lipophilicity results in longer retention times and (c) substitution ortho to the acid functionality results in decreased retention times.
