Zusammenfassung:A stellarator vacuum magnetic field determined by its last closed magnetic surface can be reconstructed by finding a remote surface-current density. Small changes of the surface-current density can then easily be made. These intermediate steps before finding a modular coil system enable free-boundary finite-β equilibria to be calculated so that their physical properties can be assessed.
