Zusammenfassung: | Perithecial development of Gelasinospora longispora started with the formation of protoperithecial initials, which were soon invaded by hypha-like or clavate antheridial branches. The outer protoperithecial wall arose from the base of the protoperithecial initial and encircled it. Other protoperithecial wall layers branched out from below the ascogonium. Pseudoparenchymatous cells lining the perithecial wall disappeared as asci matured, and paraphyses were scanty. The mature perithecium had a well-defined, threelayered wall. Anomalous perithecia were observed. Perithecia matured 10 days after inoculation, and spore discharge commenced after 12 days. Perithecium development is of a typical Sordariaceae type. |
