OBSERVATIONAL SELECTION IN BINARY-STAR ECCENTRICITIES
Observational selection effects on the distribution of eccentricities in binary-star orbits are examined by monitoring the selection of orbits from a randomly generated sample. Selection effects fully explain the difference between predicted and observed eccentricity distributions.
