Zusammenfassung:	The authors summarize their own previous work on the identification of a subset of patients characterized by psychiatric disorders, recurrency of mucosal infections and impaired natural immunity. The diagnostic approach to these patients based on the close collaboration between infectivologists, immunologists and psychiatrists is described with the aim to find out combined treatments for the amelioration of clinical manifestations.
