Zusammenfassung:I clearly remember, as a child, my first dog nearly dying of canine parvovirus (CPV) before vaccines against this illness became available and, working in Belfast in the 1980s, I saw cases of canine distemper virus (CDV) on a daily basis. Ten years later, whilst working in France, leptospirosis was not uncommon and, here in the UK today, we still see occasional cases of feline calicivirus (FCV), feline herpesvirus (FHV), feline leukaemia virus (FeLV), Chlamydophila felis, CPV and 'kennel cough'.
