Zusammenfassung:This article examines test procedures that focus on activating and assessing learning and action potential. This dynamic testing is presented within an intelligence-testing framework as an appropriate diagnostic strategy for assessing potential for change and for identifying the relevant variables experimentally. It is shown how the various testing approaches integrate feedback and prompts that elicit a learning process and estimate learning potential. The development of a dynamic approach to testing motor learning potential in Europe and the United States is outlined. Comparisons with static approaches show the advantages of dynamic test procedures in education, competitive sports, aviation, childhood motor impairments, and current trends in sport psychology. Consequences are discussed for a research perspective placing more emphasis on change.
