Zusammenfassung: | Parental acceptance is generally regarded as an important parental attribute, yet has been investigated only minimally. In the studies reported here, the Porter Parental Acceptance Scale was used to study foster parents' acceptance of children as it relates to demographic factors, aspects of their personal history, and their history as foster parents. The malleability of foster parents' acceptance in response to a foster parent skills training program was also studied. Possible relationships of parental acceptance to success in fostering parenting are discussed. |
