Helium cryosorption at temperature lower than 4.2 K

The results of investigation of helium eryosorption on the solid argon layers in the temperature range 4.2 4.2 ÷ 2.0 K. are given. It is shown that at sorbent cooling down to 2.17 K, eryosorption mechanism is changed, resulting in significantly increased helium sorption capacity. It is assumed that...

Zusammenfassung:The results of investigation of helium eryosorption on the solid argon layers in the temperature range 4.2 4.2 ÷ 2.0 K. are given. It is shown that at sorbent cooling down to 2.17 K, eryosorption mechanism is changed, resulting in significantly increased helium sorption capacity. It is assumed that this process could be attributed to appearing of the superfluid phase in a sorbate helium.
