Zusammenfassung:A four-year period to commemorate the centenary of the cataclysm of World War I began in the summer of 2014, including the commemoration of the assassination of a prophetic advocate for peace, Jean Jaures. Jaures (1859-1914), a great French parliamentarian, defender of social justice, and founder of the social justice newspaper L'Humanite, was assassinated by a right-wing nationalist fanatic. Jaures was killed on the eve of the outbreak of World War I, fought primarily on French soil, before he could write his J'accuse on behalf of an ideal of peace based on an integral vision of humanity and social justice.
