Zusammenfassung:A method to improve the speed of air--plasma cutting of Cu and its alloys by increasing the heat evolution during curing is described. The addition of propane--butane into the arc is necessary because the heat of formation of copper oxides is only 165 kJ/mol vs. 553 kJ/mol for iron oxides. Data show that the air--hydrocarbon mixture improves the cutting efficiency by 1.4 and the cutting speed increases from 0.65 to 0.9 m/min. (Original in Russian). 4 ref.--R.A.S.
