Zusammenfassung: | This first of three articles exploring the Canadian-United States broadcasting and cable inter-relationship suggests that both countries have dealt with cable in a rather desperate "catch up with the medium before it devours the situation" fashion-and that Canada, with far higher cable penetration, has been more successful in its approach. Dr. Le Duc, a communications attorney and author of Cable Television and the FCC (1973) and numerous other cable studies, is professor of communication arts at the University of Wisconsin in Madison. This research was made possible by a travel grant from the American Philosophical Society. |
