Zusammenfassung: | I imagine that criticism in the leading article of traditional linguistically orientated perspectives of language reflects the perceptions of many clinicians working with aphasic clients; that is, different analyses provide information about how linguistic and communication behaviours relate to standard models of behaviour. However, they do not interpret the relevance of skills and deficits in aphasic speakers' day-to-day communication. The author proposes that assessment and treatment conducted in an interactive context addresses two limitations of current approaches to the assessment and treatment of aphasia. |
