Zusammenfassung:Microcomputer models for describing the removal of dispersed DNAPL (dense nonaqueous phase liquid) droplets from contaminated aquifers by air sparging are presented, and the dependence of cleanup times on the model parameters is explored. Diffusion transport is assumed to take place from spherical DNAPL droplets through a thick stagnant water layer in a porous medium to the advecting mobile water. Single sparging wells and single sparging curtains are modeled.
