Zusammenfassung:Growth and mechanical twinning in tetragonal KSCN and related crystals is treated as a normal domain structure resulting from a (improper) ferroelastic transition from a (real or hypothetical) cubic phase. Some experimental data on the twinning are completed by a discussion of the crystal structure and an elementary (point-)group theoretical analysis of the domain structure.
