Zusammenfassung: | In general, catalyst beds are made up of a size distribution of particles. Often the distribution of particle sizes can be well represented by either a rectangular or triangular size distribution. This paper shows that characteristic mean particle sizes can be defined for both the rectangular and triangular distributions such that the effectiveness factor based on this single particle size lies close to the effectiveness factor for the distribution. Thus, by using the correct mean particle size a quick and reasonably accurate evaluation of the effectiveness factor for the particle size distribution can be made. |
