Zusammenfassung:Reaction of isopropylisocyanide with CoX 2 ·6H 2 O (X = ClO 4 , BF 4 ) in EtOH produced [Co 2 (CNCHMe 2 ) 10 X 4 · 5H 2 O, and reaction of t-butylisocyanide, produced [Co(CNCMe 3 ) 4 H 2 O]X 2 ·nH 2 O. The complexes were characterized by IR, electronic spectra, magnetic susceptibility, and molar conductivity. CNCHMe 2 complexes are diamagnetic in the solid state and one-electron paramagnetic in solution; this and other data are consistent with dimerization in the solid and dissociation in solution. CNCMe 3 complexes are one-electron paramagnetic in the solid and solution states, this being consistent with a monomeric structure.
