Reaction of β-Nitroenones with Active Methylene Compounds Anions

β-Dicarbonyl compounds, phenylsulfonylacetate, cyanoacetate and malonitrile sodium enolates add to β-nitroenones at the α-carbon atom of the unsaturated carbonyl system and provide access to highly functionalised intermediates.
