Zusammenfassung: | This paper investigates the shapes of the energy distributions (energy straggling and skewness) of helium ions, which passed through thin carbon foils with energies ranging from 40 to 100 keV. It is found that the shapes of the distributions must be strongly influenced by the foil structure. A comparison with calculations based on the Firsov model of electronic energy transfer shows that the energy dependences of the higher moments of the distributions are satisfactorily described, whereas the absolute values are considerably higher than the theoretical values. |
