Zusammenfassung:Using a multipole formalism and the concept of multiplet spin (groups of closest nuclear levels), selective excitation of multiquantum lines is treated. Both pure pulses, no internal coupling, and finite pulses, some internal coupling, are covered. The results, valid for single spins of arbitrary magnitude are compared to the fictitious spin 1/2 approach.
