Zusammenfassung: | The Eatin American portion of North America is further divided into Mexico, Central America (a geographic region that includes the republics extending from Belize to Panama), and the Caribbean Islands (a geographic region). Numerous textbooks, some state Geography Standards, and other entities are now using North America (a continent) to refer to what formerly was identified as Anglo-America (a culture region). In my own work involving a forthcoming series of books on major world culture regions, I have opted to use Northern America to identify the region formerly called Anglo-America and urge others to adopt this term as well. |
