Zusammenfassung: | This paper aims to encourage discussion of the role that computing, and the use of micros in particular, should have for distance-learning (DL) students. Two broad areas are identified and discussed: firstly, the needs and requirements for DL students to communicate with the mainframe and inhouse micros for access to their software; and, secondly, the need for DL students to have support material on their personal microcomputers to enhance other distance-learning material. The paper identifies several ways in which it is possible to improve the lot of the DL student. |
