Development in Norwegian agriculture during the last 40 years is given a short description. Milk and meat production is concentrated to a decreasing number of farms. Grain production is also intensified and causes increased losses of soil and nutrients. Implements to reduce pollution is described. More permanent grass cover reduces soil losses. However, also this production has to be adapted to the natural conditions.
