Zusammenfassung:A new absorptiometric procedure for the determination of Ftorafur in pharmaceutical formulations is presented, based on the reaction of Ftorafur with a mineral acid-containing phloroglucinol solution. Absorbance readings at 430 nm obey Lambert-Beer's law within the concentration range from 4.00 to 28.00 μg ml −1 . The method is operationally simple, precise and selective. A suggested mechanism is proposed.
