Functional measure for gauge fields on periodic lattices

The effective action for non‐Abelian gauge theories on a finite, periodic lattice is derived by imposing the static, time averaged Landau gauge. This gauge appears to be very convenient for problems in which there is one preferred direction, as in the finite temperature case.
