Zusammenfassung: | The linear marginal instability analysis of the ordinary perpendicular mode instability of drifting bi-Maxwellian plasma particle distributions with and without temperature anisotropy is extended by including the modifications of heavier ion species. For general values of the temperature anisotropy, the streaming velocity, and the parallel plasma beta, accurate marginal stability conditions are derived, which enable a better understanding of the interplay of counterstreaming and temperature anisotropy. |
