Zusammenfassung: | The average kinetic energy released during the unimolecular decomposition of argon ion clusters has been measured as a function of cluster size from Ar+5 up to Ar+24. Although there are considerable uncertainties in the experimental data, when compared with an RRKM model the results do suggest that excess energy in the ion clusters is partitioned in a statistical manner. |
