Zusammenfassung:We consider the formation of the surface plasmon polariton (SPP) mode in the ring-type V-groove structure. Closed-form expressions for the mode field distributions, resonant frequency, and total quality factor are obtained for the structure in a broad wavelength range. The model serves as a practical guide to design a SPP microcavity with sub-wavelength confinement in the transverse cross sectional directions.
